A facial or nasal mask is often used with C-Paps and B-Paps, which are used mainly when sleeping. Wouldn't it just hook up to the trach, kind of > like a vent? ventilators work on different levels. many people with a trach still breath in a traditional sense. mask are about breathing comfortably, not forcibly. ....that's just how i've come to understand it. i could be way wrong. if i am, somebody please correct me. i don't use breathing assistance yet.
