wheelchair problems already

So it's only been two weeks with my new wheelchair and I found the

first problem today. It's more than a problem actually; it's

completely unacceptable. It seems that whenever it gets a little water

on it, anywhere near the gears or whatnot below me, it just shuts

itself down. Yep! Rainy Northern CA and I'm headed home - typical

weather lately, so it's raining hard. Three blocks from my house my

wheelchair cuts speed in half. Right outside my door to my apartment,

it stops and won't do anything. I can't tilt. I can't recline. I can't

move in any direction. All lights keep flashing whenever I turn the

machine to on like it's plugged in being charged or tilted too far

back that it won't let me go.

Luckily my attendant was waiting for me today and she was able to get

me inside and changed, but I'm without mobility at all. I called the

vendor and she said there wasn't a technician in my area today. I told

her to find one and she said she couldn't do that but would call back

and let me know. I told her to not call me back unless she's telling

me there's a technician on his way and that it better be sometime

before close of day.

Now maybe it's just a little thing and it'll pass as soon as it dries

up - but that's not acceptable that 5 minutes driving home in the rain

makes the entire chair lock up. Even if it starts driving again, I

cannot accept a wheelchair that is so picky toward water!
