Last Sunday, I woke up with strep throat. I went to the doctor and

got a perscription for Amoxicillin (the pink liquid kind). In

general, I don't get antibiotics first thing, even with slight nasal

congestion, because I don't want to get some antibiotic-resistant

thing going. Plus, they don't do anything for viruses. I know there

are some drugs - I think Levaquin and Cipro might be two - that fight

both, but I try not to take any unless it feels like congestion is

migrating down to my chest. But on Sunday, I knew I needed to go to

the doctor because my lympnodes were swollen to the point where if I

leaned my head forward too much, I could hardly breathe. Plus strep

is running rampant around here (southren Ohio).

Then early yesterday morning, I woke up with this piercing pain in my

right side, just under and beneath my ribcage. I've had this a few

times before, spread out roughly around 6 to 8 month intervals. I

used to think my curvature was causing my ribs to puncture an organ or

something, but after talking to a few older people with similar

attacks and doing some internet research, I've decided they must be

gall bladder attacks. Does anyone else have these? It feels like I'm

getting stabbed in the side for anywhere up to 12 hours or so. During

this time I feel so bloated at times, it hurts to take deep breaths

(well, " deep " for me). And I cannot get comfortable in *any* position.
