Guest guest
Hi Folks, I have been diagnosed with a 2nd MRSA infection in my urinary tract. For those unfamiliar: http://www.mrsainfection.org/ Last time I probably got it during my hospital stay in August. I was tested 4 weeks ago and was negative. I use universal health precautions with all attendants. No one even shares hand towels. I haven't been to a clinic or hospital. Yet, I'm infected as of last Wednesday. Sigh. Anyone out there dealing with this in a home care setting? Thanks, Alana
Guest guest
Sorry Alana, I have no advice. I'd never even heard of this problem you are having so I've been reading on the link you posted. I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this. I don't know what to say-it sux when we are helpless to do anything to help you. I'll just hope your treatments work quickly and get you feeling your best again soon! Guest guest
I think you didn't get reinfected, I think your old August MRSA didn't get 100% dead, they never really do......and grew back when able to. Protius infection happened to me that way........... Nick

Guest guest
Thank you for asking, Joy. My infectius disease specialist (she's awesome) put me and Chuck on 10 days of topical treatment around my supra pubic catheter site and both of our nosrils. We finished Monday and will do nasal cultures next Tuesday. We did a urinalysis and cultur and sensitivity test yesterday, a week earlier than planned, because I had a low-grade fever. We're waiting for results. As long I feel mostly fine, she doesn't want to do the systemic (I.V.) meds yet. > > Alana, please tell us how you are doing with this.... > > >
