Guest guest
From the recent Age of Autism, on the subject of the possible benefits of gold salts: 'It doesn`t seem to work with the older kids,' Haley said. 'These older kids are just lost.' But, Haley emphasized: 'Don`t jump on this. Be careful. You can hurt kids.' I'm not " disgusted " as one person commented in the feedback area on this site http://news.monstersandcritics.com/lifestyle/consumerhealth/article_1071179.php and I certainly don't share that person's sentiments. But here's another example of Dr Haley innocently setting himself up for this kind of reaction and spin. If I didn't know who Boyd Haley was or anything about his work, or that he'd probably do anything to save a kid (including an " older " kid) I might be really upset too. Hell, it's hard enough to fight off the sense of hopelessness when your " older " child just isn't responding to something you're trying despite your best efforts. I think Dr. Haley rocks, and I won't allow myself think things are hopeless, but words like " just lost " can really tear at you, and these days I really don't need to hear that my son is approaching " lost " . I know I'm being a bit whiney, maybe dodging reality, and certainly not trying to take a cheap shot at Dr. H - just noting what is perhaps another example of how the power of one innocent comment - even from one exceptional person - can be an emotional bomb. -randy > > > > I was SO Happy to see Bill on Larry King the other night talking > about > > Mercury and Pharmaceutical Companies! > > I wish he could have gotten into it more! > > I tried like heck to get through and talk to him live and ask him > a question > > about how he feels about the Autism Epidemic and Mercury Poisoning > but I > > could not get through, I was so upset! Guest guest
When I read the comments that Dr. Haley made with regards to how older kids may fare regarding the use of gold salts, I cringed briefly again, wondering (or more or less "knowing") how the neurodiversity crowd will interpret those remarks of his. Needless to say, Kathleen Seidel and others have made comments about his unfortunate remarks, and these remarks are available in various places on the Internet, but I won't bring them up here, because I truly don't think these remarks are of any importance to the issue at hand. The issue is whether gold salts will be of any use in helping children with autism, no matter what their age. I am glad that Dr. Haley has taken the initiative to run some preliminary tests with thimerosal and gold salts. As he said himself, it is too early to run out and start treating children with gold salts, and hope to do this in a safe manner. If these gold salts do help get rid of mercury from these childrens' bodies and they show signs of improvement, it begs the question of how all that mercury got there and what damage it was doing while there. The mercury poisoning issue is one that the neurodiversity folks would rather not deal with. That's why I am siding with Dr. Haley and others (who are not tied to various government agencies and pharmaceutical companies), who are making an effort to research the effects of vaccines, vaccine ingredients, and other heavy metals, and I will not pay much attention to the efforts of, in my mind, misguided folks, who are trying to derail their significant efforts in trying to find out what is going on with so many kids. If 1out 6 children in the States has a neurological and/or behavioral disorder, that is not a "good thing", or something to applaud and celebrate in the name of "neurodiversity". Our statistics here in Canada are not much different. I thank God for researchers like Dr. Haley and others, who continue to search for answers to this conundrum, despite the opposition they are facing from various medical and government agencies, including lack of funding for research which they would be willing to undertake to bring us closer to an answer to these begging questions. Guest guest
Seidel simply isn't intelligent enough to understand all that she has read concerning thimerosal. It's a shame her child suffers because of it. Her comments should always be ignored. Andy Cutler says that gold salts do not chelate mercury. > > > > > > I was SO Happy to see Bill on Larry King the other night talking > > about > > > Mercury and Pharmaceutical Companies! > > > I wish he could have gotten into it more! > > > I tried like heck to get through and talk to him live and ask him > > a question > > > about how he feels about the Autism Epidemic and Mercury Poisoning > > but I > > > could not get through, I was so upset! Guest guest
I felt that Dr. Haley's comments were very positive regarding not only gold salts, and their possible implications in chelation, but that he sees the older kids in need of a treatment to help them. There is so much press/research/success stories on the younger kids, that I took his " lost " statement to mean that the older kids have been lost in the quest. My daughter is older, and as a result, I think more damage has been done, and not as quickly treated, as the younger kids. But, that does not mean there is no hope, and I think that is what Dr. Haley is wanting to articulate. He is a hero in the quest to help all kids, regardless of age. As far as Ms. Seidel, everyone is entitled to their opinion. Hers may be proved wrong in the very near future. > > > > > > > > I was SO Happy to see Bill on Larry King the other night > talking > > > about > > > > Mercury and Pharmaceutical Companies! > > > > I wish he could have gotten into it more! > > > > I tried like heck to get through and talk to him live and ask > him > > > a question > > > > about how he feels about the Autism Epidemic and Mercury > Poisoning > > > but I > > > > could not get through, I was so upset! Guest guest
I agree, , I was actually encouraged by Dr. Haley's comments. I, too, have an older child and interpreted his remarks to mean that the current chelators available are not as effective with the older children as they are with the younger ones and that, perhaps, gold salts will prove to be more effective with older kids than what we're currently using. After all, he's testing gold salts to determine if it has the potential to be an effective chelator. Having watched Dr. Haley in action for a few years now, I can't imagine that he's folding his hands and giving up or suggesting than anyone else should. I'm not.
