Guest guest
ACTION ALERT: HELP! Please call, e-mail or fax Senator Hammerstrom's office today regarding Senate Bill #720. As you will see in the forwarded letter below, she is considering dismissing SB #720 and putting her faith in the federal government's bill. There is no guarantee that bill will come to fruition, nor does that bill phase out thimerosal completely!! We need the State of Michigan to step-up to the plate and ensure we receive the safest vaccines possible. Currently as written Senate Bill #720 reduces thimerosal content to 1 mcg. We strategically planned that at the committee hearings we would amend the language and phase it out completely over time. Let Senator Hammerstrom know you want this bill, with amended language phasing thimerosal out completely to zero mcg, to become Michigan law. Thimerosal is still in high amounts in various flu , meningitis, diptheria/tetanus boosters, and tetanus shots. Thimerosal is a KNOWN NEUROTOXIN, KNOWN TO CAUSE BIRTH DEFECTS AND KNOWN TO CAUSE INFERTILITY. It doesn't belong in ANY VACCINE in ANY AMOUNT. Please take the time to contact Senator Hammerstrom's office and demand that ALL Michigan residents receive the safest vaccines possible. PLEASE ACT TODAY! THERE IS A MEETING ON WEDNESDAY TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE OF THIS BILL!!! Senator Beverly S. HammerstromPO Box 30036Lansing, MI 48909-7536 Office Phone: (517) 373-3543 Fax: (517) 373-0927E-mail Address: SenBHammerstrom@... Together we can make a difference!! Coller The Integrative Healthcare Center 300 South State St. Suite #5 Zeeland, MI 49464 Re: Senate Bill is #720 Mr. Doorn September 30, 2005 Dear Mr. Doorn: Thank you for your recent inquiry relative to Senate Bill 720. We are currently reviewing the proposal because there have been some concerns raised as to whether or not this is even needed. The childhood vaccines now being used do not contain mercury because pharmaceutical companies agreed with a Food and Drug Administration (FDA) request to voluntarily remove it, and any vaccines that had been on the shelves prior to that agreement are now passed their effective dates. While there may be concerns about a voluntary removal vs. statute, there has been legislation introduced in Washington D.C. to make it mandatory in law. It would appear that the federal level might be the more appropriate level for this issue If so, we could pass a Resolution at the State level requesting federal lawmakers to pass the proposal. I hope this information is helpful to you. Sincerely, Beverly S.
