Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I was just looking through the American Academy of Pediatrics website and stumbled onto this little jewel. I was curious to learn what pediatricians know about mercury. If their main source of information on the subject is the AAP, this is what they know - ________________ " Technical Report: Mercury in the Environment: Implications for Pediatricians " (2001) http://tinyurl.com/9eyex " Currently, all vaccines in the recommended vaccination schedule do not contain thimerosal as a preservative. " (pp. 197 & 199 & 203) [Remember, this is 2001. In 2001, my child received vaccines that contained thimerosal.] " As a precautionary measure, ethylmercury in the vaccines is being reduced or eliminated from a vaccine preparations as quickly as manufacturers can alter their production processed and obtain FDA approval for the formulated materials. Currently, all vaccines in the recommended childhood immunization schedule do not contain thimerosal as a preservative. " (p. 203) " As part of an ongoing review of biological products in response to the Food and Drug Administration Modernization Act of 1997, the FDA is reviewing the use of mercury in biological products and pharmaceutical preparations. It would seem prudent for the FDA to carefully examine all uses of mercury in pharmaceuticals, particularly pharmaceuticals that are used by infants and pregnant women. The FDA is working with the pharmaceutical industry and the medical community to decrease or eliminate exposures to mercury in vaccines and other products. " (pp. 203-204) [Remember - 2001] __________________ In 2001, my child received vaccines that contained thimerosal. Is it any wonder that a pediatrician is shocked to find a thimerosal containing vaccine still in his or her stock? They, the pediatricians, seem to see this matter as having been resolved. Are they well informed by those they trust? Let's also keep in mind that the AAP is vigorously opposing ANY bill limiting the use of thimerosal in vaccines in ANY state -- with some success. As my sister said, " If it's not in the vaccines, why are they opposing it? " Good question. Even if the information the AAP provides to the pediatricians on this subject is accurate -- what about our children? What can you do? Come to Washington. www.nationalforce.org
