Guest guest
Got back yesterday from wet Washington and wanted to add a few thoughts to the comments already made: Funny: Bobbie Manning with her press pass inside the Convention Center. Doing karaoke for the first time ever on Friday Night and confirming my suspicion that I have an awful voice. I sang " You're So Vain " but forgot to dedicate it to Big Pharma and Offit. Great: Stopping a couple of Drs. walking into the Convention Center to talk to them and they said they didn't speak English (from Mexico). Then, to my suprise, McDonough starts speaking to them in spanish and explaining what the mercury has done to her son's body. They thanked her when she was finished. Meeting and talking to the beautiful and sweet Will Redwood. Having many people from cab drivers to bypassers ask about what we were doing. There was always surprise when hearing about the mercury. Seeing all the parents out there in the rain speaking out for their kids. Humbling: Spending some time with a single mom who drove up from Florida with her 3 affected boys. One with ADHD, one with Aspergers and one with autism. They are 3 sweet boys. Hearing that O. sold some items that were very meaningful to her for her affected son. Favorite T-Shirt: I can't speak, etc. but thank God my mother saved $4 on the vaccine (Something like that). Wonderings: How does Teri Small talk for so long? Can I stick one of the bumper stickers Holly Bortfeld was handing out that say " Demand Vaccines Without Mercury " on Offit's car? I live near Philly, I'm sure I could sneak by his house one night.... When are Bobbie M. and Rita S. and the Bono's, etc. going to burn out from all the hard work they do. I hope the next time (if there is one) we can get some more people to attend. I know, easy for me to say, I live within driving distance. But I've been to a DAN Conference with almost 1,000 people. So I think we should be able to get a 1,000 to one of these. Finally, it's always good to meet another group of great parents....
