Guest guest
I tried to post this earlier, but sent it only to ...sorry! This whole tragedy surrounding the death of the precious 5 year old is wrong on soooo many levels, it's hurting my brain. I know, as you do, that we will undoubtedly be bombarded with the whole " hysterical parents putting children at risk for death " routine. Well, I say, bring it on. There are plenty of people to be blamed here, and the parents aren't any of them. This child is the ultimate victim in this horrific tragedy. They want to point fingers, we'll I'd be happy to help them. We can make meaning out of this terrible loss. The very institution that was entrusted to take care of this child, not only poisoned him, but then refused to acknowledge they had done so, provided a community of caretakers unqualified to diagnose toxicological issues (no education in it...even in this day and age), and went even further by not training said caretakers how to treat the very problem they induced. The incompetence involved in all aspects of this tragedy is unspeakable. The doctor who was trying to help this child is to be applauded. But the institution who created this situation, refuses to acknowledge it, refuses to educate the very doctor's it produces, refuses to research the mercury connection, refuses to develop medicines to quickly, efficiently, safely and cost effectively reverse its damage, and ultimately killed this boy...well they are to be despised. And at a minimum, they need to be help accountable...once and for all. If it was my daughter, I'd have a wrongful death suit slapped on the CDC, FDA, APA, and anyone else involved before she was burried. Rally anyone? Sorry if I sound outraged...I am.
