Guest guest
Here in GA, it started at 7p yesterday and ran solid until 7p tonight, the usual 24hr period. The difference was that it was on a station I was totally unfamiliar with. I had to do a Dish PASS search to find it. Guest guest
I second you. I always remember him saying that every disabled person is a mistake. My answer to him next to my wheelchair during an anti-Telethon protest years ago was, " Jerry, was Hawking a mistake? " I am glad he is gone. While I appreciate the dedication given to the MDA & the attention brought to the cause by Jerry , I think the best decision made was to get rid of him. The entire atmosphere was so different, so much more positive & upbeat. It wasn't the usual pity fest begging for money because " kids " are going to die without it. Let's face it, neuromuscular diseases SUCK, but those living with it just want a chance at life! Not once, did I feel sorry for , the attorney from Orlando; he's kicking butt in life DESPITE SMA! He never denied difficulties that are, at times, involved, but he overcomes the obstacles. Furthermore, a picture of a man in a wheelchair strolling with his " wife " beside him & his " child " on his lap was shown throughout the show. I thought that was SO cool, something never seen before! I think the MDA might finally be " getting " it! Amy M. & Xander Sent on the Sprint® Now Network from my BlackBerry® Telethon What did everyone think of the telethon this year? To me, it just wasn't the same without Jerry .
