I didn't know that. When I heard I was going to have to wear these, I thought they were going to be irritating. With the constant inflating and deflating, I thought it would make it difficult to sleep...but it didn't! They actually felt pretty good, like a mini-massage. The ones they had in the hospital started inflating from the foot and continued upward, it was like a rolling sensation up my legs, then deflated going back down again toward my feet.
