Currently, WID operates with a staff of 17 employees and regular volunteers and is located in downtown Oakland, California, convenient to accessible BART and bus transportation. Since its founding in 1983, WID has earned a reputation for quality research and public education on a wide range of issues. Over half of the Board of Directors and staff are people with disabilities, and respected national leaders in the disability rights field, as well as in industry, government, and social services. This enables WID to bring a cross-disability perspective to the policy arena. ABOUT CWII: The California Work Incentives Initiative, CWII, is a community based collaboration focused on reducing poverty and barriers to employment by engaging the disability community to improve person-centered health care and employment services. Current projects include Disability Benefits 101 (DB101), a (soon to be) bilingual website on public and private health and benefit programs for California workers and job seekers; the statewide California Work Group on Work Incentives and Healthcare (CWG); and CWII’s Youth Initiatives. The program conducts statewide outreach, training and presentations on Disability Benefits 101, health, benefits, work and disability. The program work environment is flexible, team oriented and fast paced, with fixed and evolving procedures and schedules due to program growth and the nature of the workloads. CWII receives support from city, county, state, federal and foundation grants and contracts to produce and manage project activities. POSITION SUMMARY: The bilingual Program Analyst serves as a primary public contact and CWII expert on state, federal and private health, work and benefit programs, and represents the program in multiple ways. The position is responsible for researched benefit program analysis and information products, based on DB101 user preferences, benefit trainings under development, and based on changes in marketing, outreach and program evaluation activities. The Program Analyst makes recommendations to the program team and partners on improving process and products as part of the essential functions of the position. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · Masters or other graduate degree in Public Policy, Social Services, Humanities or related fields plus 3 years work experience related to public and private disability benefits and health coverage. Or · B. DESCRIPTION OF ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Provide Content Management services in Spanish and English: · Work with program manager, project staff and partners to research, craft, edit and update program information, products and services, including website, training and outreach information, curricula and marketing products · Provide content and writing expertise to Disability Benefits 101 (DB101) benefits calculator project · Provide content, cultural and other language oversight, and plain language writing expertise to installation on website of subcontractor translations of DB101 sections and DB101 benefits calculator sessions · Create new website benefit program content as warranted by program development, and with direction from program manager · Research and add articles and current events of DB101 user interest to the website · Respond to inquiries from website users with appropriate information or technical assistance · Create issue briefs, news articles and other products that enhance website, training, marketing and outreach activities · Present on program content and services at conferences, meetings, focus groups, CWII’s California Work Group meetings, and at other forums Program Research & Analysis · Develop program analysis, issue briefs or news articles based on specific ways that the website is being used or as warranted by new research projects · Analyze program interactions and track changes to program interaction · Research, track and report on changes to public and private healthcare and benefit programs · Research, track and report on proposed changes to and changes in law related to program services, activities and products · Data search, interpretation and reporting activities · Develop and modify survey tools for users of DB101 information services Program Collaboration and Participation · Work collaboratively and build work relationships with interns and California Work Group participants, CWII partners, and others who contribute to program products · Participate in project and program planning and meetings as needed · Recommend improvements to the program team and partners on process and products.
