Hello,

I'm wondering how many of you on the list rent a home, or part of a home/room,

and how you went about finding one to fityour access needs.

I have been an " apartment dweller " foor abut a yr now, and although it has its

benefits, I reall would like to live in a house and am wondering if its just not

worth the hassle, or not all that difficult.

I live in the bay area, calif, and my budget to rent a 2-bedroom for myself and

live-in PA is about $1,500-$1,600 per month (her wage is that I pay her portion

of rent)---which I know this sounds like a lot, but does not go far at all in

the bay area!

As far as access issues, there arent too many " musts " , as I'm willing to

sacrafice to live in a home. mainly just a large enough space/doorways for

chair to menuever, decent size bathroom that my chair can fit in (no roll in

shower needed), and one-level. I'm not even sure if this exists for my budget!

I realize most homes have at least a few steps to enter as well, so that is

okay if easilly ramped (a plus if no steps though)....I'd LOVE a small yard and

thats a big reason id like to live in a home, but this is also the main

drawback---because who will help me keep it up, and/or is it costly to pay for

this to be done...?

any other tips welcome. my lease is up here in december
