I had my fusion 1-03 at Arnold Palmer hospital by Dr. Philips. I had/have a

similar sensation on certain spots on my back and right buttock, but it's more

of a numb tingly feeling when touched. It's not bothersome to me at all though

I definately experienced the tingly, pins & needles sensation,

especially in my legs, ever since surgery 17 years ago! I think

sometimes nerves are damaged or pinched during the surgery. I wear

anti-embolism stocking to reduce swelling. Not very attractive but they

work. It also helps reduce the numbness.

I too hAve the numb spot on my upper thigh/knee area. weird. My feet are

so cold and purple one classmate classified me as " tan " heehe! i need my

" beanies " warmed in the microwave at night to warm up otherwise I cannot

sleep.

Mee Ling,

My niece, SMA II, had the surgery at age 8. She's 10 now and has had no

problems and will have less respiratory complications as a result.
