Here or not...

Not that I've been all that active lately, but not sure how active I will

be in the next couple weeks.

My company and union are in negotiations (actually have been since

January), there is a chance for a strike and I'll be locked in if it comes

down to that. I won't have access to my personal email or groups since it's

blocked on the company system. I may take my personal notebook, but since I

have cable internet at home, I don't have a dial-up service anymore.

All this, to say, I may or may not be around...

Today I was told to have clothes and stuff packed and with me in case we

go in tomorrow and aren't allowed to leave!

The last couple months have been very stressful, and frustrating as you

can imagine! Hope it all comes to an end soon, peacefully!

Later, Mike

Well got to come home today... each day will be the same, not knowing...

I am an engineer/technician for a power plant. I worked for 3 years as an

outside contractor in the lab, and then they hired me. I was supposed to do

the same thing, but once I got hired the union stepped in and took that job

off of me. I now work in the environmental department as a technician.

When the plant went through all the people's education and found I had an

engineering degree they made me an engineer. Sounded good until I found out

they took away my overtime and didn't raise my base pay! What's wrong with

this picture? I told them to put me back to a " peon " technician so at least

I could make more money. ;)

Later,

Mike Briggs
