Guest guest
While we're on the subject of bras and sizes, has any of the woman noticed how panty sizes vary from company to company? The Secrets XS fit me well but when I bought XS panties online from Old Navy, they were HUGE. They fit my sister and she's a size 5 (while the ones from VS were so tiny that she couldn't get them past her thighs). Just kinda annoying when the same size from two different companies are completely different.
Guest guest
I'm very 'flat-chested'. I don't bother wearing a bra. As a teenager, even training bras would slowly ride up until they were practically around my neck. Not very comfy or appealing. But I like being small cuz I don't have to mess around putting on extra undergarments. They did get a tiny bit bigger after having kids, but not much. Here is a story about a horrible 's Secret experience I had last summer: My brother's almost-fiancee, , and my friend wanted to check out this big sale they were having. All these prissy sales girls were standing around armed and ready with measuring tapes to determine bust sizes of clueless customers. You know me, quasi-hippy, flapping free in the wind. Well, I decided I was going to take this opportunity to identify my bra size in the event I ever decided to actually wear one. I called this sales girl over and stated I wanted to be measured too ( & had already been measured). She gives me this look akin to, " Well, I've never really measured a cripple before, but I'll try... " Trying to talk her way out of the uncomfortableness, she asks, " What size do you currently wear? " I reply, " I don't. " She didn't looked satisfied with that answer. holds my arms up and the girl hastily wraps the tape measure around me like she is afraid she is going to catch something. She kind of hums and haws, and finally says, " Well, this may not be completely accurate because of the way *we* are, but I'm measuring you to be a 44 B or C. " I felt like replying, " Well, I hope you realize this means *we* will be going home immediately to kill *ourselves*. " Instead, I left the store straight away and waited in front for and to make their way through the crowds of other rabid underwear hunters. I spent the rest of the day brooding about my peculiar body shape and subsequent need to wear huge sizes. -- Jenn Malatesta -------------- My web page: http://www.isoc.net/brokeninside/nekrosys/ ------------------------------------------------------------ Philo of andria: " Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a great battle. Guest guest
i have the same problem too guys (or should i say girls?!)... i have one small and one very small, which disappear to mosquito bites when i lay down. the smaller boob is further to the side as well... i'm still not completely comfortable with them, but i'm working on it. i never wear a bra, but i have these shirts that i like to wear under tight sweaters because they are empire waisted and accentuate what little i have without the uncomfort of a padded bra. jenn, i noticed you said you have a 44 inch measurement around your torso... i also have quite a large measurement for my body size (36 fits me super tight, and you just can't find a 38A). i am pretty sure this is because our rib cages expand to make it easier for our diaphrams to work (i read this somewhere). does anyone else have this problem? also, has anyone ever thought of getting a boob job to make them bigger or even them out? i know i have, but i don't really like the idea of an unneccessary operation or having more foreign bodies in my body!! also, i would think it would look funny because of scoliosis and the fact that we don't have much muscle to stuff the implant under... -rachel Original Message: ----------------- From: Jenn Malatesta nekrosys@... Guest guest
I TOTALLY agree, and I don't have any difficulties you ladies seem to have. They are way over priced (although very cute) - and often run in weird sizes. One bra I'll be a 34A and the next I'm wearing a C! Sometimes I can find a cute bra on sale - but only when I splurge. I typically shop at Vicky's for the lingerie. One time I went in the dressing rooms (not wheelchair accessible by any means) and got locked inside because there wasn't room enough to turn around completely and I couldn't lift my arm high enough behind me to unlock the door. It was one of those doors that locked automatically when it shut. The sales staff were totally confused on how to get me out (don't they have keys!?) and kept insisting I needed to " try harder " because it isn't " that hard " to reach. It got to the point my friend with me ended up crawling under the space of the door to come in and unlock it while the staff just stood there complaining I shouldn't have gone in the dressing room in the first place. (When they were the ones that told me that stall was their largest and perfect for a wheelchair.) Another store that is a bit pricey, but way better in sizing is GapBody. I've only had positive experiences there with the staff and facilities. But then again, I've never regreted a WalMart deal on bras and other personal clothing items! ~Kendra > i personally think the victoria's secret bra's are not made well and way over priced. i know several people who say this, even a former store manager of theirs. i used to swear by their bras and not even try anything else, until i realized i can find equal or better in dept stores for lless. Also, some inside info--VS contracts out other name brand bra makers to make their bras, clothes, undies.....ever notice for example the exact same clothing in express that is in the VS catalog? (theyre the same company).....for example, Vs's hugely popular " body by victoria " line is nothing unique....i forget which other name brand makes it for VS, but you can see the same thing in Dept stores w/ just a different label. > > >

Actually, I have no idea how accurate that was cuz the lady acted like she was afraid to touch me and held the tape measure real loose. I do know that I have to buy ultra huge pants cuz of my residual curve. If I don't, the waistband or elastic cuts into my side really bad. Guest guest
I have to wear really big sizes too. Of course, growing up in the south eating all that " soul food " like well, everything fried and cheesy....it is probably my fault! But I do have quite a curve in my side due to " scoliosis leftovers. " I had the spinal fusion at age 11, so have a really strange body shape. I just go for comfort now, and as long as I can find comfortable, decent-clothes, I am good Holly Re: Breasts > butterfly@... wrote: > > > jenn, i noticed you said you have a 44 inch > > measurement around your torso... i also have quite a large measurement for > > my body size (36 fits me super tight, and you just can't find a 38A). > > i am > > pretty sure this is because our rib cages expand to make it easier for our > > diaphrams to work (i read this somewhere). does anyone else have this > > problem? > > Actually, I have no idea how accurate that was cuz the lady acted like she was afraid to touch me and held the tape measure real loose. Guest guest
Just a quick note to say the small breast thing is not common to all SMAers. My breasts are way too big (DD). They are uncomfortable and in the way and I would gladly swap with any of you small chested women. I cannot find a comfortable bra large enough for me that will hold these up without pulling me down. I have never had a spine fusion (was born a bit to early ) so I don't know if that has any effect; But all the women in our family were large breasted. Guest guest
Note that I made that comment while I was still in Washington. Now I'm back in Utah and wanting to cry over the state of my skin!! A couple months ago I seem to have randomly developed an allergy to something around here, because my face IMMEDIATELY dries up and is blotchy, flaky, bumpy, red... grr!!! I don't know what to do.... When my skin's just normal dry, though, I'm usually able to handle it pretty well by just being religious with my moisturizer every night and morning. I've heard that dry skin gets pimples because it's producing nasty oils to compensate for lack of moisture. Right now, I think I have more moisturizers in my bathroom than in an average drug store... ~e
