Hey! So I've organized this new group on campus. We're working closely

with NYAGV (New Yorkers Against Gun Violence), a state organization.

NYAGV invited our student group to lobby with them. A few weeks ago we

lobbied the state assembly. It was alright. Of course, I had some

issues with transportation and making sure the students and staff

member could handle my needs for the day (which wasn't bad). Now,

we're going to Washington DC in two weeks. It was supposed to be a

drive down and back in one day, but now it's turned into an

overnighter. I'm really excited and I don't want to miss this

opportunity, but I'm a bit worried. I haven't traveled with a group of

total strangers in years. The last travel experience was great. An

honors group from my community college and I went to Puerto Rico for a

conference. But at the time I was much more independent and stronger.

I had confidence that I could toilet and shower on my own. Now I

sometimes grow weary I can't do it myself at my own apartment. I'm a

bit nervous to do this. It's a group of girls, that I'm sure would

help me if I directed them when in need but I barely know them outside

of this group.

Any suggestions? What about ideas for which hotels would be most

accomodating? Can you think of any needs that I may have over looked?
