Guest guest
I get annoying twitches like ticks around my eyes which I've had off and on for many years. Every so often I get a finger or toe that moves rythmically up and down by itself for several minutes and that is weird to watch and feel. Do any of you get any other strange sensations like soft prickling ( almost electrical ) in a small area that comes and goes?
Guest guest
My son, Danny (20), gets twitches in his face sometimes. Usually his nose or an eye. It's not noticeable by others, but really annoying for him. It mostly happens if he has missed a meal and is really hungry. Don't understand the connection but eating better does help to prevent it. > Hi Y'all > > As we are talking about twitching i wanted to know, do any of you have facial > spasms, little twitches? and do you know if they are related to sma? Guest guest
" Every so often I get a finger or toe that moves rythmically up and down by itself for several minutes and that is weird to watch and feel. " The same thing happens to me. Recently, I couldn't stop my middle finger from moving up and down by itself and it lasted the whole day, not only several minutes as happened before.... It lasted exactly from the morning when I woke up until the evening when I went to bed - and the next morning the strange sensation stopped. But, it was driving me crazy - whenever it happens it's just so weird...My mom was telling me that I perhaps just overworked my finger and hand during the day, but I don't think so... Is this really a part of SMA symptoms or something? I mean are there some scientific proofs about it? Radmy
Guest guest
I have been able to control facial spasms by staying completly away from anything containing caffeine or sugar or alchohol. No coffee or decaf coffee which still has some caffeine, no chocolate, no tea, no cola drinks or root beer drinks that contain caffeine or sugar, No alchoholic drinks, no herbal stimulantants such as ginseng or others. Other muscle spasms in other parts of my body can occur with exersion, so no long strenuous physical therapy sessions. Light exercises only for me. > > Hi Y'all > > As we are talking about twitching i wanted to know, do any of you have facial > spasms, little twitches? and do you know if they are related to sma? Guest guest
I have noticed that the all over body twitches have gotten worse through the years. The twitching use to be bad just after strenuous activity but now seems to be all the time. I'm not sure when that started? I have just recently experienced the facial spasm--quite annoying. Guest guest
I too have had them. Called fascilations. Mostly under my right eye. If I look in the mirror I can see the twitching. Others don't seem to notice it but it's bad enough to distract me. They come and go. Last winter I had spell that lasted about a month. It seems anytime I have a weird health problem the Doc's blame it on SMA. Not always so sure. > > > > > > Hi Y'all > > > > > > As we are talking about twitching i wanted to know, do any of you > > have facial > > > spasms, little twitches? and do you know if they are related to > > sma? Guest guest
Hi, I have had twitches for many years. They come for anywhere from a few minutes to lasting about a month. Sometimes a finger or toe will move my itself or I get them around an eye or corner of my mouth. Don't know why. They don't hurt and I don't worry about them.
