Guest guest
> Can you work that day or the next after a treatment? > > Ohio - Terry ***************************************************** Terry, I usually get the first appointment of the day so I can get right back to work and not lose my precious sick time. My set up is really great. We have a private room, with tv, and if we are there at noon, lunch is served...all for $5.00. I know alot of us have insurance hell, but sometimes they save your behind! Guest guest
Terry, I had my 2nd remicade yesterday. I drove to my son " s house, played with his 4 and 5 year olds. then shopped and went out for dinner. I haven't experienced any ill effects and yes you can go to work the next day. (That's if you really want to). 2 weeks ago I had 40 swollen and painful joints, yesterday, I had 20 swollen and 3 painful. I go again in 4 weeks. This is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Today I sent my dr. and his nurse flowers with the note " you are my heros " attached. I just wished this was available when I was first dx 23 years ago. Good luck let us know how you respond. a remy buddy in Indy--Judy
Guest guest
Hello, Sorry it took me a little while to reply. I get the messages on digest so it takes me a few days to get through all the messages. The answer to your question about Remicade depends on your doctor. With my new insurance, I get my Remicade at the local hospital (convenient for me, since it's right across the street from my apartment). My doctor prescribes Benadryl and Tylenol with the Remicade to prevent an allergic reaction. The Benadryl makes me very sleepy, so I don't drive after my treatment. I'm usually fine by 3-4 hours after my treatment is finished but I choose not to work after it. I'm fine by the next day so I go to work. (I just got my treatment yesterday afternoon and am back at work today.) Have a good day. Culpeper, VA Reactive/ B27 mediated arthritis Can you work that day or the next after a treatment? Guest guest
Vikki, You need to let your rheumy know of any sore throat or the slightest hint of infection and they will more than likely reschedule your infus. Better safe than sorry. Hope you respond well, it has worked wonders for me, I love my results. Judy in Indy

Guest guest
Hi Carol, Yes, take your meds and eat as usual. Take a book or a movie if you wish but I usually get distracted right in the middle. I had cortisone injections today in both ankles. Hopefully this will give me the reliefe I need. The remicade has taken care of everything else, thank God. Have a good evening and hope your infus goes well. Judy in Indy

Guest guest
Hi Judy in Indy, OUCH! Injections in your ankles, boy that has gotta hurt. I have had them in all my other joints but the ankles. Gee, I guess I should not say it too loud, or that will be the next thing to go. I think you need a cabana boy to help you until the injections start to work. Try not to do too much. It's gotta be miserable with all this hot weather and humidity. Please take care of YOU. Gentle, tender, angel hugs, Debs in FL
