Dear Ms.Hokkanen,

I do have a child on the ASD. He is an older child and I have been

fighting this fight probably alot longer than most on this list. The

people who do the most for this cause are people that get the least

attention. I do not need to " toot my own horn " nor do I tell people

after I have given them information that they cannot act upon it. I

have been to DC more times than I can count and probably have worn a

path from where I live to there. I attended the Homeland Security

Rally, did you? I have done more than a dozen parents combined on my

own time with my own money, even though I am broke. But like I said,

I don't need to tell the world what I am doing to get a pat on the

back from everyone else. I know what I have done for my child and

that is all that counts.

What details would you like about my child? That he has speech

problems? Says the same thing a thousand times, that he wears

diapers, drools, has a hard time learning, has severe allergies,

doesn't sleep much, has severe abdominal pain, etc. Just because I

have an opinion does not mean that I don't have an injured child.

Funny, you and the rest of the group seem to be able to voice your

opinions, but not me. Because I agreed with someone else I am

suddenly a spy?

I happened to think that the scolding to Kelli Ann by Bobby

Manning and Lujene was unfounded.

I seldom post because half of the time I don't think it is worth it.

Perhaps some on this list trumpet a bit loudly, and occasionally

harbor ill will toward others. But talking about our kids and

talking about our political advocacy encourages others to take

action too.

Not everyone is self-actualized. I never had a sense of what I could

do until someone else talked about what they had done.

I for one will say " I never had a sense of what I could do until

Hokkanen talked about what she had done " .

We all benefit when someone shares their success stories. That is

what is special about EOH. and I have been following this

story since 2000 and we have always said " we don't have time " . When

we read that it was just parents who started this and THEN

researchers and politicians, we realized we could have been doing

something all along. That is why we are so dedicated now.

If someone else decides to call this " tooting our own horn " then so

be it. All of us that are dedicated to the disscussion of EOH and

the events since its publication are only sharing ideas and successes

to help inspire others to join in.
