ABC cancelled RFK, Jr. appearances!

Late this afternoon, I spoke with RFK, Jr's office...

Mr. Kennedy's scheduled appearances on ABC World News Tonight, 20/20

and his Thursday, June 16th appearance on Good Morning America have

been cancelled by ABC. Officials at ABC stated their decision to

cancel Mr. Kennedy's appearance on their network is because it is " too

politically controversial. "

In my opinion, ABC is more concerned about protecting their huge

advertising revenues from the pharmaceutical industry than reporting

news that could protect pregnant women, infants and children from

mercury tainted vaccines. SHAME ON ABC!

I sure am glad I didn't drag the TV from the garage back into the

house in anticipation of these appearances. ABC is spineless.

Maybe RFK will have better success on cable.

Probably caved in to the threat of loss of advertising dollars from

Pharma. Gutless wonders willing to sell out our children. And the

parents involved in vaccine litigation are accused of being money

hungry? Sheesh...

You are so right. Controversy has nothing to do with it. When they thought they had the goods on Bush in the National Guard they ran with it. They will run with any story until $$$$$$$$$$$ get in the way.

to find out who the producer was last night who had editorial

control. It's time to have another e-mail, phone, letter writing

campaign to let these advertising money whores know that this

Does anyone know if Frontline has ever been approached on this topic?

If I recall correctly the Producer started it after he left 60

minutes/CBS when they refused to air the Wiegland (sp?)

interview regarding big tobacco (the whistleblower the movie The

Insider was based on).

He was the Exec Producer, his name escapes me but I remember Al Pacino

played him in the movie....

tried to email abc my feelings on the matter but I couldn't get the

I spoke with a guy in New York who told me something along the lines

that " there wasn't enough time to run the story and that people

higher up decided that this was too important of an issue for it to

get the limited airtime that was alloted " (yeah, right)....when I

asked him when it would run he told me he had no idea and hung up....

I got the DC number and called numerous times with no answer...BUT I

was told on two occassions that it was the DC number for World News

Tonight....(I think it was just too late when I called and that

everyone had left for the night)

SO...CALL THE NUMBER TOMORROW AND LET THEM KNOW WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT

THEIR DECISION...LET THEM KNOW THAT THIS ISSUE WILL NOT GO AWAY AND

THAT OUR VOICES WILL NOT BE IGNORED....

Well I was watching " Dodgeball " ....and am just seeing all this

now...would love to have a ball in hand vs " Them " . Is it time to fax

the hell out of ABC??, with Lilly MSDS, short but sweet letter

regarding the next years flu shot ratio (10% nonTCV vs 90%TCV)or the

thump of EOH??

I learned late this evening there are indications that ABC may be re-

evaluating their decision about the RFK, Jr. interviews. I still

think it is a great idea to let them know viewers believe this issue

as one of paramount importance.

But, let's not burn any bridges with them just yet. Let's all take

the opportunity to " educate " them nicely as we did with NBC and ask

them politely to run the interviews. I understand they also

interviewed Lyn Redwood of Safe Minds(always a beautiful,

knowledgeable and eloquent spokeswoman for our cause).

F. Kennedy, Jr. carefully and extensively studied the issue

of mercury in vaccines before writing the article, Deadly Immunity,

currently featured in Rolling Stone and on Salon.com. He is

sincere, committed, dedicated and knowledgeable. I'm confident that

will be evident to not only ABC, but other media outlets as well.

For course, this is a sensitive subject for them to air but once

they see the evidence and witness RFK, Jr's knowledge on this

matter, we are hopeful that the interviews will be aired soon.

Therefore, it is in the best interests of our children to show ABC

that we are informed, rational and determined but very courteous.

By responding in this manner we also show respect for Mr. Kennedy

and Mrs. Redwood who both worked very hard to insure this issue was

represented in an intelligent and credible manner.

Thank you for caring enough about our children to make your voices

heard.

We are putting a " Thank-you " card on NoMercury and A-CHAMP so you

can express your appreciation to Mr. Kennedy, Rolling Stone and

Salon.com. We will forward the card to Mr. Kennedy next month. The

card should be available to sign tomorrow afternoon (having

difficulty with our DSL so updating the NoMercury and A-CHAMP

websites are a challenge right now).
