All,

I had to share that I just got the BFL success journal and am LOVING it. It

has all of the great reference material from the book as well as a motivational

story for each day.

Statistics show those that are able to maintain weigh loss, are usually those

that document everything.

Anyway, thought I would pass that along!

just a blank lined journal is excellent for me, when I've got a lot of

private thoughts or want to 'talk to myself' about something. even if it's

things I've already said in my head, putting stuff on paper just seems so

much more cleansing to me, and it also seems as though that makes it easier

for me to keep a concrete hold on ideas or thoughts that I've had about

certain things.

I also like to use online blogs as a tool for when I'm looking for input.

livejournal, facebook, myspace, those are all great places to post something

that you want to post about, but select friends (or anyone, your choice) can

read it and give you feedback. to me this offers excellent insight that I

may not have come up with on my own.

I also try to keep my eye out for books that look like they pertain to me &

my emotional situations that have writing exercises in them or a workbook

that goes along with them. a lot of my self-love issues (that tie in

directly with my binging/body image issues) spawn from childhood sexual

abuse, and for that I'm working through Healing the Child Within/A Gift to

Myself by Whitfield. it has -tons- of writing/journaling exercises

dealing with self-image/esteem issues. I've also just gotten a copy of Self

Matters by Dr. Phil. it too has many writing/journaling exercises that

focus on things like why you hold yourself back or practice self-sabotage.

I scoffed at Dr. Phil books for a long time, but after working through one

dealing with my relationship and commitment issues, I think he really has a

good idea of what he's talking about. plus I work really well with the 'no

bs, no sugarcoating' approach.

I hope this at least gives you some ideas. :)

Any book store. I don't know where you are located but and

Nobels, Borders, even Walmart or Target should have them in their

stationary sections.

good book on journaling - " Put your heart on paper: staying connected in a

loose-ends world " Henriette Anne Klauser

has a lot of writing exercises to help you connect to yourself (or others) - I

find I need to connect with myself (past or experiences) to get to the root of

what causes some of my actions & behaviors. Anyway, bought mine used after a

friend recommended it - it's the trade paperback size

on blank journals - I've found over time & practice that I really like the ones

that are lined on one side & blank on the other and spiral bound -- not really

an artist, but at times I put some doodles or a clipping from the paper or a

photograph that I've taken or a comic from the paper -- anything to inspire the

writing on the other side - even have ticket stubs (from ferry rides and events)

and a few scraps of fabrics in my journals that I love.

Today I created a rocking gift for my sister for Christmas.  I rock even if I

struggle with issues of food and body.  I am more than this struggle and I

deserve to love myself!

I successfully completed a whole bodyrock.tv workout today.  Earlier this week,

I barely made it through the warm up lol. (I'll just pretend that my out of

control eating didn't happen, ok?:D)
