Guest guest
Sorry I know this is an old message, it was on my laptop and I haven't turned it on in a long time, I wanted to say Congratulations on the great 3 year check up. I'm so glad for you. Good luck with the insurance coverage, be sure to let us know what happens. I'm happy dancing right along with you. Your dedication to exercise is an inspiration to us all. Kerry Had a check up with my oncologist today (for new members and those who otherwise don't know or forgot, I'm a 3 year breast cancer survivor) and she said I'm doing great!!! I'm posting because I wanted to celebrate with all of you! I thought I was but it is always reassuring to hear that! She commented on my maintaining my weight loss and wanted to know if I was exercising, heck yes! She said that is the key and I know it is huge, I'm so glad to have found this group to help me stay motivated and for giving me so many great tips and ideas (and ways to spend the little bit of money that finds it way into my checking account). Only semi-negative but hopefully a positive is because of my weight loss (25 lbs. last year), my implant (which I had put in after a mastectomy) doesn't sit right and floats around a bit. She said it probably isn't any real medical issue, just a matter of comfort for me. When I told my husband he brought up my exercising and that might make it move around more and be uncomfortable. I've never noticed but I do wonder if I did more high impact stuff if I might. Sometimes it is uncomfortable but not usually but if it means I can finagle some way to get it replaced with insurance covering it then I will gladly replace it because of that and especially because I'm really not comfortable with how I look (quite lopsided in certain shirts, which I don't wear now) or how it feels. I've never been an "appearance" kind of girl and don't think I am now but it has surprised me how much this has bugged me. I try not to let it because c'mon, in the big picture, who really cares, at least I'm here and healthy and that is all that matters but now that I know I might have options, with insurance, then I might take advantage of it. Anyway, I spent this afternoon making phone calls to the docs and insurance companies and am going to meet with my surgeon next month for a consultation and then we'll decide from there. Only problem with him is that he's now out of network to me due to insurance changes so I might have to have him refer me to someone in-network. Oh well, we'll cross that bridge when we get there. Would be very exciting to have this truly insignificant in the big picture issue taken care of because in the small picture (the one in my head) it is significant. Will post an update next month! :-) Thanks for happy dancing with me about the checkup!

Guest guest
Thank you so much Tess, it does indeed feel wonderful! About the implant: the "funny" thing is that I created the trouble by losing weight! :-) I'm just waiting for my plastic surgeon to pick on me about that (he warned me but I didn't take it seriously and was only concerned about gaining which would have had its own issues). Oops! Now I'm just hoping he (or an in-network colleague he recommends) can do something about it for me. Will let you know in August! Thanks again! Re: OT: Great checkup! Guest guest
Thank you Kerry!!! YOU and Jen are the inspirations to me! I wasn't exercising when I was diagnosed or recovering from surgeries. It took me a several years to get off my butt in a truly dedicated way but I'm sure it would have been easier if I had been back then. Will let you know what comes of all the insurance stuff. Hoping to find out by early August. Thanks again Kerry! Re: OT: Great checkup! Guest guest
We can only go forward, and do better tomorrow. At least you found fitness and are doing something about it. It all helps.
