I'm sitting here wondering why I'm so winded and sore from this video then went to collagevideo.com for help remembering the segments and find out it is an intermediate level yoga video... guess I'm more of a beginner in yoga still and definitely tonight I am!

Took yesterday off and then needed to do something today and finally found some time this evening. Had been previewing Baron Baptiste's Power Yoga Level 2 and decided I was in the mood for yoga but wanted to watch this entire video once before trying it. Now, after trying 10 Min. Solution Yoga I've decided I'm not ready for the Baron workout (71 minutes). That's okay, I'll get there.

Here's what happened. First, I thought I'd be "smart" and mix up the order of the 5 workouts, fully intending to do all 5 tonight, then realized as I was doing one of them that I'd never done it before and have, therefore, never done all 5 separately or especially together! I think, after my experiment, that the order they're in is actually very good because they build on each other and she (Lara Hudson, who is excellent) works different body parts so that you're not repeating movements and body parts one after the other. My re-order had me doing endless sun salutations! I won't be messing with that next time. I did the "basics" first which is sun salutations with quite a bit of instruction. Then I did "Yoga Burn" which is a faster paced series of standing and floor routines... and lots more sun salutations! I was having a very hard time with low plank tonight, it is very hard for me anyway but tonight was really hard. I did like her chair pose flow, that was kind of cool. I was not at all able to do the rolling back to standing straight up sequence (could roll back but could not stand up without using my hands). This seemed like a fun segment with lots of variety and challenge. Then I did the buns and thighs segment but by that time I was a little winded and especially my legs and thighs were already so sore that I could not hold the poses as long as she did nor did I end up doing all of them... just went into child's pose for some and mountain during other parts... jumped in where I could but watched a lot too. Decided at that point that there was no point to doing the abs section, which I already knew was tough, and went right to the flexibility and relaxation segment. They're all such good short workouts but at this point, doing them all at once is a bit much for me. It was good to try though! Will have to decide how to use these now. I think I can do 2 or at most 3 together and just use it for a shorter workout on days when I don't want to take too much time. They are great for both strength and flexibility I think (for me anyway). I'm definitely looking forward to working more with this one.

I think tomorrow is cardio. Pretty sure I'll do 's Walk Slim 4 Fast Miles. Tuesday will be strength and I'll either keep working with Lift Weights to Lose Weight or I might do Quick Fix Arms and Legs. Not sure yet. Still planning the rest of the week. I was up .8 pounds at my weigh-in Friday. Not a tragedy but with a birthday party yesterday and a noticeable tendency to be snacking again lately and some more events every weekend this month, I need to keep at my exercise for sure. Worked out 5 days last week and already 2 this week (my week now starts on Fridays, when I weigh in) so I'm getting back on track.

Husband is off work this week so my schedule will be once again disrupted but am hoping to workout most mornings before he and the kids are up. Hope you all have great workout weeks!
