Guest guest
Hi Betty and Jay, I think caliper is something like the long leg brace as Betty said but it has more functions. As quoted in the medical dictionary " caliper splints can be used to exert traction on a deformed or paralysed leg as part of orthepaedic treatment " . I was told by somebody that he had seen a SMA kid using that few years back but unfortunately he is unable to locate the family now. That's why I would like to know if anyone has experience in the caliper treatment. Thanks. Guest guest
Yes, KAFOs do exert that kind of traction. We use them the help keep the legs stretched, so contratures don't get worse. bettylou Re: calipers Hi Betty and Jay, I think caliper is something like the long leg brace as Betty said but it has more functions.
