Judy, Judy, Judy :)

Neither band nor helmet therapy use shop tools! :)

Seriously, though. Remember, these types of treatments aren't something tight to make certain areas smaller. They just (gently) slow them down and give the other side a chance to catch up!

Grace's band is no snugger on her head then the baby head bands I used to be able to put on her everyday. As a matter of fact, I think a couple of her headbands were tighter. When I would take them off at the end of the day, they would leave a bit of an impression. Her doc band doesn't do that!

I don't want to put him in a "vice" either, but I don't know of any other way to fix it.

I think sometimes men have a tendency to think, "not MY kid." Maybe it's harder for them to see something of theirs as imperfect.

Maybe I'm just being too analytical. ;)

about the spouse thing...it took my hubby a while to "catch up". Major denial! Consider another dr, perhaps you will get a different opinion. Kimry

Hi Kimry-

I agree with you.

That's all I had to say, I just wanted to say that since I haven't had much to say lately.

:) :)

Clinic Locations - Cranial Technologies consider this specialist...I'd like to think that if you don't need the band, a seasoned specialist that makes Cranial Technologies site list would not recommended/rx it. Perhaps hearing it from someone with first hand patient experience would make you feel better, even if they said you don't need a band/helmet. Just a thought...Kimry

My husband was always "with me" when it came to Hanna and her future treatment,

but it didn't quite hit him until I dragged him with me to the clinic for

an appointment. When he heard THEM say that Hanna's head was severe,

it almost broke his heart.

I think a lot of these Daddy's still feel they have to play the tough

guy. And lets face it, did your stomach not hit the floor the first

time you saw a picture of a baby with a band/helmet? I know mine

did. I didn't want my sweet little girl to look handicapped.

Now that I've seen dozens of pictures, I can't wait to see MY baby in hers!

It was once explained to me that the band puts as much pressure on the

(front) bulge as the crib mattress would put on the back of the head.

No, , you're not!!! My husband was very concerned about all of this at first. Since starting treatment, everything has been my responsibility!!!! Those moms who have help from dad are very fortunate. I on the other hand am not. Belinda(Indiana)

You're just a worry-wart ;)

He'll be fine. In talking to a lot of parents about their kids

having helmets and bands, I've not heard anyone say their child had

pain from the pressure. There have been cases of skin irritations,

adjustments needed in the length of the helmet/band to keep it off

the baby's neck or cheek, but I don't remember anyone saying they

suspected headaches were being caused.

So, even though it's a mother's right - quit worrying! He (and YOU)

will be fine!
