Guest guest
: So glad to hear your brother and cousin are ok. I can't imagine the wait you had before you found this out. I hope things get better with Ian -- when 's allergies flare up so does his behavior (outside of the normal ODD/OCD/ADHD stuff). takes Flonase (sp?) to help the environmental allergies -- it's a nose spray; I like that because he isn't ingesting it. To give you hope, Risperdal has been blessing for him and us -- it really calmed him down. I hope Ian can get the same relief -- it's relief for all involved. 's teachers saw a big difference in him after the Risperdal was at a peak level for . The tremors are the only draw back for ; a little weight gain is good for since most of his OCD surrounds food. God bless, Tamra Re: Mike update-LONG (sorry) , Thanks for posting of Mike's success in the last 2 weeks! It gave me a much needed shot of hope! Things are still quite rocky here, Ian had the worst meltdown of his life on Monday night (before the world changed), and his pdoc says if it gets that bad again, we are looking at hospitalization. His Lithium levels have hit .8 which is in the therapeutic range, but we've upped the dosage again and added daily Risperdal hoping to mellow him out. He did better through the week (despite the horror and tension), though this afternoon and evening he was very close to meltdown much of the time. Somehow we managed to avert it. You have made me think though, his allergies have really been bothering him this week, I wonder if he's getting an ear infection. The pediatrician has warned me that he may need another tube in one ear that they always describe as "funky". He gets infections in it from time to time. Perhaps this is causing some of the problem? Hmmm.... I hope good days continue for you and your family! Y'all certainly deserve them. I'm also glad your sister is safe! My brother is in NYC this week on vacation. He was actually on his way to the WTC on Tuesday, but missed his connection. By the time he figured it out, the trains had stopped running. My cousin lives and works in NJ, but takes a bus through Manhattan each a.m., he had already passed by before the planes hit. My family certainly spent many long anxious hours Tuesday, waiting for news. We feel very fortunate that our news was good and deeply mourn for those still waiting and those who've lost someone.
