Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Here are my 8 week results: 11.8 lbs, 17.75 inches (3 " from my waist!) and 3.5% bodyfat lost. I am still in my size 8 jeans but they're a little looser. Hoping to get into my size 6 jeans! I am bummed...went to bed last night not feeling well with my asthma flaring up. This morning I woke up with bronchitis. :-( So...tell me I need to rest, right? No workouts? I haven't missed a workout yet and wanted to finish the challenge strong. But I also know I need to rest and heal in order for this bronchitis to go away. Or is there something I can do while I'm sick? Please send encouragement my way! Thanks,
Guest guest
The general rule is that if all your symptoms are from the neck up (sore throat, nasal congestion, headache, watery eyes) you can still train. But if you have symptoms that extend below the neck (chest congestion, heavy coughing, fever, body aches) then you should park it for a couple of days. Once the fever breaks and the congestion is under control you can ease back into your workouts, but on the 1-2 days where you really feel god-awful, you want your body working full time on getting well. You don't want to divide its attention between muscle repair and immune function because it won't do either one particularly well. You'll stay sick longer and your fitness gains will be nil. Remember that nutrition is 80% of the equation, so if you're eating well, missing a workout or two isn't going to affect your results. Listen to your body. You'll know whether you're capable of a light workout or whether it's a crazy idea. :-) On 2/28/06, perditagal <bookmommy@...> wrote: > Hi Everyone, > > Here are my 8 week results: 11.8 lbs, 17.75 inches (3 " from my waist!) > and 3.5% bodyfat lost.
