Guest guest
Im new to all of this and i'm trying to figure out the high point thing regarding weight training. Does this mean that the rep sets of 12, 10, 8 and 6 are challenging but isn't real tuff? and only the compound 12 set are??? because now im challenging myself with each set (weight wise) and then just push through the 12 compound set... with all 6 sets being real HARD POWERFUL sets Also, i'm not strong in my arms... i struggle to do 4 different weight sets because then the first ones would be to easy in order to allow me to do the last (8 and 6) rep sets... so what i do now is to do the 12 and 10 on one weight and the other two (8 and 6) on a higher weight until im stronger. Is this wrong???
Guest guest
Remember that the first sets of 12 and 10 serve as your warm-up. The last couple of reps should be challenging on those, but there shouldn't be any question that you're going to make it. By the time you get to the heaviest sets of 8 and 6, it should be a major, muscle-shaking struggle to crank out the last couple of reps. Maybe you don't always make it but it's better to hit a definite 10 a couple of reps short than to finish the set easily. The two " high-point " sets of 12 done back-to-back at the end are about burning up the muscles once you've already killed them. LOL It doesn't mean the sets of 8 and 6 should be easy. Yes, you should be using different and progressively heavier weights for the first 4 sets. You might need to get some different sizes or use some Plate Mate magnets to make the jumps between weights smaller. Sometimes 5 pound jumps are too much.
