FWIW.....I obtained a sample demo print-out at a computer store of what this

Epson printer produces, and when I took the sample print-out home, dipped it

in water, and rubbed my finger across it, it smeared...BIG TIME!

Well, don't know if this will help or not but ...here goes anyway....I

am sure someone will speak up if not....last weekend I was in a store

called " Best " <I am in Washington state> it is a electronic's store.

But am sure you could get it in any computer store....they had/have a

paper out now for either lazer or inkjet printers that the young man

swore to me is water proof..and the color picture was beautiful!...it is

made by Espon (sp?) the demo person had just left, but he said she even

dipped it in water and the printing stayed just fine...can't remember

the exact price I paid but I think it was like 9.99 for a ream (500

sheets) Now have not had a chance to " play " with it yet...hopefully

this weekend....but did tell the young man that if it did not work--I

WOULD come back to put the paper where the sun don't shine....LOL! And

he said, he was so sure of it...he was not worried...so we will

seeeeeeee! Maybe one of you computer whiz'z can check this out...I am a

dunce when it comes to computers....anyway just some FYI--hope it helps

Charlie!

We use a HPG55 and Epson printers for our labels but the HPG55 is perfect.

For example I had to make a copy of a money order receipt to take to the post

office and when the guy at the PO saw it he thought it was the original MO

receipt.

I also use this printer to print pictures from my digital camera onto Kodak

picture paper and people could not tell the difference, we use it for

promotional flyers and many other things as well, so finally when we added the

waterproof shield to our B & B product labels they dry nice and shiny and our

customers

are VERY happy with it.

Ladies & Gentlemen this really works.

Be Blessed!

Thank you

  • 1 year later...

I've been using the labels for about 3 months, now, and have never

had one run. The post I'd read about them was that they'd soaked

them for 15 minutes in water, and they hadn't run. I've used them on

shower gel bottles that I sell to a bed and breakfast, and you know

those must get alot of use - these aren't one-use ones that people

take with them, these are bigger bottles, and just topped up after

each guest. And she's never mentioned a problem with them looking

bad. I don't know about oil proof. I'd think maybe oil could stain

it with a water-mark look, but I don't think it'd run. Exciting, I

know. Such an inexpensive, simple solution! That's why I shared! I

saw the ad for waterproof labels, and thought I'd let y'all in on

it. I've really been happy with the performance of the Epson, too.

Nice and fast. I finally unplugged my hp, because I just wasn't

using it, and I'd picked it for its' speed.

>> the labels don't run, even in the shower? Are they oil proof as

well? I
