Guest guest
Awesome post and so true. I expected to lose 15-20 pounds my first challenge (I was new and clueless, what can I say ;-). I barely lost 5 pounds, and that happened in the last three weeks. I could have chucked Body for Life and moved on to some fad diet that did more exciting things to the scale. I'm so glad I stuck around! Six years later I'm pushing 40 and in the best shape of my life courtesy of BFL. I feel like the struggle is over. I know what works. Guest guest
Well said n!!! Bravo! That is smart advice, not to compare myself with others. I'm 45 by the way, and this is the year I promised myself I would turn it around. Diane How much have you lost so far, no make that how many sizes? Guest guest
Hi Diane - I finished 1 challenge, took a week off and have just completed the 9th week of my second challenge. To date, I have gone from: - 174 to 154 pounds (ie, about 1 pound per week, but I haven't lost each week; the loss is erratic) - I changed methods of measuring body fat, but on my Tanita I have gone from about 40% to 33%; currently about 27.?% on my Omron - Size 14 to currently a comfortable 10 in most anything I try on, and even an 8 in some brands of pants (I was a size 10 once upon a time, for a couple of weeks; I have never worn size 8 in my life) - my cholesterol went from over 180 to 135 - I still have a ways to go, but I am confident that I can wear tank tops and spaghetti straps this summer. Thanks for the pat on the back ! n At 07:31 PM 1/29/2006, you wrote: ><SNIP> >How much have you lost so far, no make that how many sizes?
