Guest guest
- The ideal BFL meal would have 25 grams of protein, 25 grams of carbs, and 5.5 grams of fat. Question-> What is the ratio of carbs to protein that I should achieve in my meals? Is my palm really the best way of measuring this? Another Question--> If I drink a whey protein shake as a snack, do i still need to include a carb portion? should it be of equal size? Guest guest
, Feel free to post any questions you like! We're all here to help! Your carbs and protein should be closely balanced. It doesn't have to be perfect, though. Most days, my carb intake is a tad higher than my protein, but if you are eating GOOD carbs, this shouldn't be a problem. The idea is to have a 20/40/40 ratio. 20% of your diet should be fat, and 40% each of protein and carbs. But don't worry about counting it exactly and charting it (unless you really want to). If you eat the foods that are on the authorized lists in the right portion sizes, you should come close to 20/40/40 anyway. Are your protein shakes premade? If not, you can use skim milk to make it, and that will give you some healthy carbs. Liz > > I am beginning the program on the 16th. Guest guest
Try doing the program as outlined in the book. If you absolutely need ratios then shoot for 40% protein, 40% carbs and 20% healthy fats. Yes, you do need to include a carb with a protein shake! A protein shake in itself is not a complete meal! > > I am beginning the program on the 16th.
