Guest guest
Can you list the chemicals? They may just be preservatives or something unrelated.... Neutrogena oil Hi, I know this was posted befor on a group so sorry for the repeat. Does anyone know what to use with the refined sesame oil to smell like the neutrogena sesame oil. I read the bottle and it's all chemicals. My husband loves it so I told him I would try to figure it out and I'm not having much luck. I don't want to sell it, just use it at home. Thanks in advance

Guest guest
Hi . The ingredients in the Neutrogena oil are as follows. Isopropyl Myristate, Sesame Oil, PEG-40 Sorbitan Peroleate, Propylparaben, BHT----- IT says it has no scent but smells so good. I have bought refined sesame oil and it smells nothing like the Neutrogena. Any ideas? Thanks again. Guest guest
, Doesn't it say anything about fragrance? That would be really strange! So far I recognize the IPM ( it helps the dry down in lotions - I use it alot....weird that its in an oil...and the sesame of course, the preservative, but I'm not sure on the PEG-40 Sorbitan Peroleate, sounds like a thickener - petroleum based, and I don't know what BHT is. But I can find out pretty quick. I'll get back to you on this... Thanks for listing it! Re: Neutrogena oil > Cool. This will be interesting:) You've got my curiousity up! Guest guest
. Thanks for your help on this one. The ingredients I gave you is for the unscented one but then I went and checked the " original sesame oil " with the great smell and it lists the same ingredients. Kind of strange isn't it. Unless they just don't list the scent. Re: Neutrogena oil > > > > Cool. This will be interesting:) You've got my curiousity up! Guest guest
OOH OOH, Mr Kotter, I finally know something! BHT is a preservative. Before we started using vaccuum packaging and sealed packaging almost all dry processed foods had BHT in them- cereal, chips and the like. Every pack you picked up contained BHA and BHT. I also remember reading that one (or both) of them was an embalming fluid. Okay, back to lurking. Hope everyone is having a wonderful Independence Day! Guest guest
, I got the information on the two ingredients that were puzzling to me. PEG-40 Sorbitan Peroleate is an emulsifier that has a HLB approximately equal to 9. It is used in making dispersable bath oils and massage oils. BHT is a very powerful antioxidant, imo better than Coviox T-50. However, people prefer to use the Tocopherol because of the Vitamin E claim. Also, BHT is looked upon as not natural even though you can buy it in health food stores. This is what I was told in response to my inquiry from a couple of people who are experts. HTH!
