Guest guest
I started worrying about vaccinations when my best friend at the time my 1st daughter was an infant was a wheelchair bound young woman with polio aquired through immunization. Polio has been eradicated too except for the only known cases now aquired through the vaccine. At that time I switched pediatricians for my daughter due to insurance changing and then we moved so she had 3 different docs. Well, I discovered that she accidentally recieved double the dosage of polio vaccination and it has bugged me ever since. Now my 2 yr old recieved the hepatitis vaccine at the hospital when he was days old, immediately afterward it was recalled for unsafe levels of mercury used as preservative, as it is in other vaccines as well. I can't help but question safety issues related to vaccines because I think parents ultimately have their individual child's best interests at heart, while the drug comapnies, epidemiologists, and researchers and doctors have some other motivating factors as well, whether profit, willingness to risk some severe effects in some individuals for the sake of healthy society in general, and pressure to toe the line as established by the medical community etc. Generally I believe that vaccinations have done great good but there are unanswered questionsthat raise concerns. Unfortunately, we can't know whether vaccines or some other factor could have induced brain damage in small children in the cases where parents noticed differences after severe reactions. It could be coincidental, that a virus or a genetic condition caused the brain damage or seizures or autism etc. It is just hard to know for sure. But the fact that there are questions would warrant further study and measures such as breaking the vaccines into separate injections and postponing them when there are signs of illness, previous severe reactions, or severe reactions in siblings. I am trying to take the happy medium approach I guess.
