I've got a couple extra pounds of washy squashy soap - it's light yellow

(uncolored). I sold some over Easter inside colored plastic eggs. I'd like to

sell more, for kids, but don't have any good packaging ideas and I'm not sure I

want to do the eggs again. does anyone else sell this stuff or have any ideas

about packaging it???

thanks!

SunFeather created a product called Washy SquashyTM back in 1996. It

was premiered at the New York International Gift Show in New York

City. It is a soft, moldable soap. We sell it in a variety of forms

ranging from 1.5 oz to 3 oz bars in packs of 6, 3 and 2 and in

canisters. Kids love it because they can create sculptures and

designs that, once dry, they can bring into the bath tub to play and

wash with. I think that may be similar to what the previous member

posted about. SunFeather trade marked the name Washy Squashy, but I

still see others referring to similar products by the name.

Hi, Fiona! Would you mind sharing it with the list? That's one I've played

around with but have been totally unsuccessful. I know my kids would love to

have some, if nothing else! :)

Thanks!

Yes of course I will share :)

OK, here is Carla's version of Playdough Soap:

4oz. M & P

2Tbls. Glycerine

1c. corn starch (1/4 c. + 3/4 put aside)

Color (of choice if desired)

EO/FO of choice

wax paper (place on table)

Melt M & P (however you melt it)

Add Glycerine & stir

add 1/4c. corn starch & mix WELL

at this point I add FD & C or D & C color & FO of choice MIX well

I put the rest of corn starch on wax paper and pour soapy mix on paper.

Knead like you would bread, adding corn starch slowly.

For a softer dough, use MORE glycerine.

For less sticky dough, use MORE corn starch.

I'm sure that Carla wont mind me sharing her recipe.. as long as you dont

claim it for your own :) I have made this and its great...I put mine in

clear deli pots, the ones with the snap on lids.

Fiona, What does this look like when complete and how is it used? Sounds

like something my grandbabies would enjoy.

Thanks for sharing....but now tell us, is it worth our time and expense?

Will the mom's still speak to us if we give it to the kids? LOL (does it

make a mess in the tub or wash away well)

and play with it yourself.... > grin!

Fiona, thanks so much for the recipe. Was wondering if this could be used

with cake decorating tools to decorate lil petit fours of soap. Will it dry

and get hard if left out in the air?
