We also live near D.C. and have not experienced your problem in getting psychiatrist appointments. For awhile Dan was seeing Dr. Judith Rapoport, who lives in D.C., but she has severely cut back on the numbers of private patients she sees. (She finished with Dan, then turned him over to his pediatrician for followup). Are you at alll close to NIH? They have doctors who specialize in OCD who are very good (Dr. Rapoport included). They also do studies on pediatric OCD. Dr. Swedo in particular. Have you asked the OCFoundation to recommend someone in your area?

We have been on the waiting list for 3 months now and the emergency call off list for one month. SOMEONE CANCELLED!!! My newly diagnosed OCD son will see the doctor in the morning. Now they can finally add some meds to his therapy. I am sure it will help him a lot. It also makes me feel a lot better to have the Children's hospital involved. I am thrilled today!> > > > Amy>
