Guest guest
Hey, how are ya? First off, congratulations on your awesome weight loss achievements! That's so great! I guess I'm not the most experienced person, or the most qualified to give advice, being that I'm only in the second week of my first challenge, but I know exactly where you are coming from when you say that you are worried about adding carbs into your diet. See, I just moved to BFL from weight watchers. I'm a lifetime member, and I lost over 120 lbs on the diet. I was petrified to move to this diet, mainly because I wasn't eating very much at all beforehand --- I was in college and skipping meals left and right, probably ranking in at about 200 cals a day. So I was totally expecting a weight gain when I started to eat 6 meals a day, you know? The crazy thing is, the first week I lost 2 pounds and the second week I lost 3 and a half. I dont know how its happening - I'm eating a helluva lot more than I used to, and I'm also building muscle from the intense workouts...but I'm still managing to lose. So, again --- I'm not the best person to take advice from (there are so many really really smart people here with a lot more experience,) but you really shouldn't be worried. If you stick to the portion sizes and stuff, I dont think adding carbs will be harmful at all. You'll do great. Good luck! ~~~Aliza~~~
Guest guest
Hi there......when I started my weight loss journey about 2 years ago, I started by doing Atkins and did lose weight that way. Well after a couple of months of that, I was so tired of the restrictions and I could not stomach another egg or piece of meat. So I switched to the Abs diet (which is almost the exact same as BFL), and then to BFL. I did not gain back a single pound when I switched and in fact went on to lose quite a bit more weight. And this diet for me was MUCH easier to do on a long term basis, it really is a lifestyle. I love having 6 small meals a day, I have so much energy. The food choices that you have are wonderful, really nothing is off limits, you just learn how to have a healthier version of it. Go for it, I think you'll be happy you did. For the last 2 years I have been a low-carber, and I must admit....I lost a load of weight (70 pounds). Just the thought of adding carbs back into my diet is scary!!!! I am however, tired of the low carb restrictions, and I want to build some muscle and lean mass. I am most afraid that this diet wont work for me, and ill end up gaining all 70 pounds back!! Any words of comfort and reassurance? Anyone out there understand where I am coming from?

Guest guest
Hi , I recommend a website put together for Body for Life-r's with more questions by Hussman <www.hussmanfitness.org>. You'll see the link at the top of the page for Body for Life folk. He has lots of info on why it works (for us detailed, research type folk) and on how to tweak it to work for you. Guest guest
For me, I say, " carbs aren't the problem; junk food is the problem " I lost about 30# low-carbing, but decided it was ridiculous to worry about salad and vegetables, or even healthy starches such as brown rice, potatoes, squash etc. Now I eat a balance, and I didn't get any sugar-cravings from the increase in carbs. This is a more reasonable way of life for long-term eating. n T. At 11:30 AM 1/7/2006, you wrote: >Any words of comfort and reassurance? Anyone out there understand >where I am coming from?
