Guest guest
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr that was not nice at all!!!! ;-) ________________________________ From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of kaitainen Sent: Wednesday, January 04, 2006 10:51 AM Subject: Tiny and amazing little snack/treat. [Avert your eyes if you are succeptible to salty & rich food porn...] I just had a chocolate & PB craving, so I made like the old Reese's commercials and " got some chocolate in my peanut butter! " . Take 1 tsp of " Better than Peanut Butter " (which is fortified with flax seeds and is slightly crunchy, or just use regular PB) in a spoon, then top it with 2 or 3 chocolate chips that you have chopped into a few pieces each. Eat in one big mouthful, chewing the chocolate chunks or letting them melt slowly, or take little bites of it until the spoonful is gone. Calories: about 35, and approximately 2 grams each of carb/fat/protein. OK, sorry about that, but after the holidays my sugar tolerance and " expectation " is way up, and I'll be craving little treats like this for another few weeks. Plus I've got a cold to " feed " . :-) http://tenacity.net
Guest guest
Sometimes, when I'm having a terrible craving, instead of caving in, and eating an entire box of cookies or chips, I have just a tablespoon of peanut butter. Plus, after I do that, my cravings are GONE, whereas if I ate the chips/cookies, I'd have eaten a ton of unnecessary calories, felt very sick, and STILL wanted more... something magical about peanut butter... -- --- kaitainen <no_reply > wrote: I just had a chocolate & PB craving, so I made like the old Reese's commercials and " got some chocolate in my peanut butter! Guest guest
Oh man, I drooled just reading that! Thanks for the snack idea. You could also use sugar free chocolate syrup drizzled over PB, but I like the idea of real chocolate better, lol. Guest guest
As an FYI, it's easy to have BFL alternatives: - smoothie with egg whites or protein powder, cocoa, splenda (if protein powder is unsweetened), and 1 Tbsp of peanut butter. - muffin with cocoa and peanut butter - egg/oat pudding with cocoa and peanut butter n T. Guest guest
I use these options too. I have to be sure the bag of chocolate chips don't end up in my shopping cart, they'll eventually end up on my hips. The cocoa powder just doesn't tempt me through the rest of the week. Probably the differences in the fats .. those cookies have processed hydrogenated transfats whereas peanutbutter (depending on brands etc) has a small amount of saturated fat in its usual 17grams per two tablespoons ..and interestingly enough peanutbutter also has usually a matching amount or more grams of protein than carbs in it: http://www.peanutbutter.com/natural.asp# so I would think this also waylays the cravings attack. joni ----------------------------------------------- *Lift well, Eat less, Walk fast, Live long*
