Guest guest
Dr Siff, Could you please tell me the approximate height and weight of Nash. Also, what kind of body type did he have e.g. thin, muscular, narrow shoulders, broad shoulders, narrow hips, broad hips, long legs, short legs, etc. The top sprinters today seem to have very narrow hips and disproportionately long legs, regardless of their height. Was Nash built along similar lines? [Mel Siff: was much the same height as I (6'2 " ), but considerably lighter. He was slender in general and not at all obviously muscular. He was lean, pleasantly muscled and quite symmetrical, with legs not disproportionately long. He did not train with heavy weights (his coach was the intrepid Major Short who later became a rather good friend of mine), but he had an extremely fluid, rhythmic running action that always seemed to be the picture of efficiency. Just for you interest, I have attached a JPG photo of and me at the Sports Awards function at my former university - that will give some idea of what he looked like.
