Guest guest Posted February 23, 2007 Report Share Posted February 23, 2007 for today's workout i chose '15 minute workouts for dummies' with gay gasper. i really like gay -- she has a great physique and can cue properly. it is always so nice to workout with an instructor who can cue! this workout is an hour long, consisting of four 15 min sections - thighs, arms, buns, abs. the thighs workout is squats and lunges, with some leg extensions and side lifts thrown in. most of the buns workout is done on all fours, doing variations of leg lifts. the upper body workout is the only one that is done with weights (although dumbells and/or ankle weights can be added to the other sections to make them harder) and back, triceps, chest, biceps, shoulders are all worked. the abs segment is all crunch variations, most of which i did on the stability ball. each segment contains a good little warmup and then a few cooldown stretches at the end and modifications are shown to make the exercises easier for absolute beginners, and more advanced mods are shown too. i dont like the 'dummies' title, but ive always enjoyed doing this workout, especially when im trying to get back into my exercise routine. i used it quite a bit when i was first starting out with strength training. i can tell that im kind of de-conditioned because i actually burned 300 cals doing this one this morning...LOL :*carolyn.
