Guest guest
Since it had been a time, I decided I’d try Yoga Booty Basic. This one is light total body toning (I had it classified improperly as light cardio). It starts and ends with a focus on the intention. The warmup and cooldown remind me of modern dance moves. After the warmup you go into the ballet section typical ballet arm and leg movements though she says you can get funky with this because even ballet can be funky J Next is weight work. There are two basic moves for the legs the plie and a side step. You alternate arm movements with these steps and there really isn’t time unless you are good with a pause button to switch weights so basically your lightest weight will work. At some point you also do some squats but it is all basic easy to follow movements. They say this is a cardio plus weights section but I don’t know if I really got my heart rate up that high. Following this is the yoga session think flowing yoga and you will get it – down dogs that flow to up dogs, down dogs with one leg in the air, that type of thing. It was actually very fun and doable (Except I must confess that as much as I try I haven’t managed to get the down dog to up dog right, the pose in the middle always gets me (I think she said it was some kind of plank – every yoga video that I have that flows has this move and I have yet to master it) Anyway after the yoga comes abs and here you get to use the squishy ball. For some reason the squishy ball is fun. Basically you put it between your legs and squeeze it which works the lower abs. She adds curls to the squeezing and then repeats it with the ball in another position. Then you put the ball under your knees and lift your knees to work the lower abs, add the curl. Then you end with the ball move from Pilates which is my favorite move. After this you are all over but for the cooldown and intention. I think all this was just a half hour and it was all fun. It is actually an almost perfect workout for TTOM except the yoga part. I tried it and shouldn’t have, next time if it is TTOM I will just skip to the abs part. Anyway great for a light toning day and fun as well. -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
