Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I didn't have the energy for a FIRM this morning. I'm still fighting a slight cold, plus I had an interrupted night last night w/ keeping the stove going in case the power went out - talk about feeling like a pioneer! My dog is such a trouper, she stayed w/ me all night - she is really DH's dog (she adores him, even though I found and rescued her!) - I think she missed him b/c he stayed at a hotel near work last night so he wouldn't have to fight his way in today (and turned out to be a good thing b/c the morning person couldn't make it in and he had to be on the air at 5 a.m.!) Anyway, I started off with T-Tapp Primary Back stretch then I did Dance Off the Inches w/ Dozois. I liked this one - this series really makes me feel successful at dance workouts! THere are three combos that are taught add on style, but you never take all three combos from the top, you work through it and move on. The workout is 30-35 min and definately " lighter " than the other stuff I do, but sometimes you just need to not kill yourself, you know? I can see this one becoming better with practice as you can really learn it and get into it! I finished up with Pilates (matwork) and Ballet from Kries's Waking Energy Level 1 DVD. I really like this DVD alot - so many options and very good production level. I'm also quite biased about and like whatever she does. The Pilates is straightforward classical mat work - it is done at a slower pace with more instruction - which I like these day - I find that going slowly really helps me concentrate on my form and get more out of it than just flying around! did say on the next DVD(harnessing the power?) that the pace will be quicker. Then, I had some time so I did the Ballet section which is about 15 minutes long and included all the Ballet favorites - plies, tendus, arabasques, etc. Some quite challenging to the balance! also started off with some form pointers and wow, did I feel it in my arms when I concentrated on holding my elbows up rather than letting them sink, which I normally do unconsciously. It was a relief to put my arms down when we were finished. Last night, before bed I did T-Tapp Basic Plus Hoe Downs and the Yin Yoga section of the J. Kries Waking Energy DVD. I really like the Yin Yoga section, we only did maybe 5 postures, but really held them and concentrated on releasing. I would have liked to hold them for longer. says that in a true Yin session you will hold a pose for 15 minutes (wow!) but to do it on the " fly " she holds for 10 breaths. I didn't view the instructional/background material on this but this Ying Yoga section is to work on the meridians in the body (energy pathways?) Either way, it felt great to really hold the poses and allow myself to stretch. Oddly, I felt sort of nauseous afterwards (although very, very relaxed), I wonder why? I'll have to do some research on that! Anyway, off to see what DD is up to - she's still sleeping which is unheard of around here! Happy Valentine's Day everyone! Donna (P.S. I must add that I'm pretty darn sore in my legs, hips, butt and abs - not sure if it was from the FIRM on Monday, on Tuesday or T-Tapp all around) ________________________________________________________________________________\ ____ Cheap talk?
