, you are so right about the self-delusion of "deserving" to eat more after an intense workout! I am guilty too of tricking myself into thinking I deserve that extra piece of pizza just because I did an intense workout an hour prior. In fact, the first year I joined the gym I worked out a LOT, sometimes 12 hours a week, and I still didn't lose much weight. Granted, I was a hell of a lot more fit and gained muscle, but I was blue that I hadn't lost any weight. It wasn't until I cut my portions in half that I started losing 5 lbs a month consistently for a little over a year. The good news is that it's an upward spiral; when you see results, the more you want to continue to see results and your resolve strengthens. Thanks again for imparting your food wisdom! Love ya!
