other horse for my horse to have what he needs tolive as he should. Have you seen racehorses travellingwith their special friend - a dog, a goat, anotherhorse? Like us, they need companionship. If I get myown land I want to get a 2nd horse. It will be agaited horse. Even if I can't ride there are plenty of things youcan do from the ground - training and playing. Myhorse had not been abused, but he was not ready forlife here. He had always been kept in a feed lot - nograss, only hay and grain for feed, walks in loosedirt or mud. We had to teach him to eat grass and towalk on the grass. It was really kind of funny. Youthink it would be natural, but mankind can mess upanything natural I believe. Anyway, the best thing in horse training is themovement toward natural horsemanship - you learn thehorse's body language and teach him cues andbehaviors. evaluate the last Olympic trail course. He and hiswife and 6-8 of their students each jumped the courseclean - without bridle or saddle. It's just a reallyexcited time to be involved with horses. I met a womanwho has a horse rescue about 90 minutes from here. Shewould like me to get involved helping her and herhusband with socializing the starved and abused horsesshe takes in. I'm working on an exercise program tobuild up my endurance.One of the most important things I get from theselists is companionship. Helen works tirelessly to findinfo for everyone here and I learn a lot too.
