My question is: why not buy a much cheaper cast iron skillet if the inside of le creuset's aren't coated with enamel? Seems like I'd just be paying for aesthetics in this case. Then again, maybe enamel coating for pan frying is not a good idea from a cooking standpoint. I think I'll just be happy with my plain cast irons--they do work well. Their website stinks and for some reason they opted to change the color of the enamel inside the pan to black. I have no idea why but I have had several emails with le creuset corporate and they maintain that the inside of the pan is in fact enamel.
