Just wanted to know if anyone here had tried these water Ionizes and what

you thought about the possible benefits of using such a filter? Lots of

claims that they improve health, hydrate the body etc.

Getting the right kind of system can make all the difference. Here's

a link:

The machine separates water into acid water and alkaline water. The

acid water isn't edible. It's very beneficial for external uses. The

alkaline water is what you use for drinking (and cooking, etc., too).

It has a very highly negative charge and takes acid waste deposites

that have accumulated in the tissues out of the body, which is why it

takes many, many years off the appearance of people who've been

drinking it.

I'm always wary of water treatment sales schtick that brings up the

myth that RO or distilled water will leach minerals from the body.

That's also the first reference I've ever seen to RO and distilled

water being labeled as poison in Europe, and I could find nothing to

back up the claim. Looks to me like just more fear-based marketing

BS, which is all too common in the field of water treatment.

I have a flow through water ionizer. (I also got one for my mom and

also my in-laws). It is a relatively inexpensive Korean model, and

probably cheaper than the annual sodapop expense of the average

family. Picked it because it is simple to use, just hook to the

faucet and poof, ionized water. Personally, I would like to get a

batch model, but I already have enough projects everyday, so it

likely wouldn't get used much.

I did a lot of research before buying, probably looked at most every

website with " water ionizer " on it. Only found a couple negative

sites, and from what I read there, these folks were on a mission to

debunk ionizers (or, imho, awfully close-minded).

Aside from the Japanese and Korean studies, there actually are a

couple of US university studies online, one was on immune deficient

mice, where the ionized water group definately lived longer. Also a

couple studies on improved health with dairy cows, and a number of

well known wholistic healing centers are using them, etc.

There is a website out there, explaining how to build your own batch

model, if you are " handy " , and another selling a bare-bones econo

(slow) batch model for around $150. One drawback to the flow-

through models is the replacement filters aren't cheap.

I like the ionized water, it is smoother, goes down easier, than tap

water, and so I am more likely to drink the water. I figure the

alkaline (alkaline minerals, calcium, magnesium) part has gotta be

helpful, the oxygen is good, and any orp would be a plus.

When first drawn, the alkaline water is nearly white, full of tiny

bubbles, and it looks like water from a mountain stream. I can't

attribute a specific profound health improvement, (I have made other

dietary changes beside the ionizer), though my ph has definately

gone up, among other positive changes.

I also use the acid water for washing produce, etc. The acid water

would possibly somewhat resemble a natural sulphur springs water?

It seems to have a sterilizing & preservative effect also, like

pickling in vinegar, but without the vinegar taste.

I am experimenting with using the acid water for soaking grains, but

interestingly, the ionizer mfg, recommends the alkaline water for

cooking. So, I haven't quite figured out the soaking, cooking part

yet... anyone have any suggestions on that?

What do you mean by " your pH " ? Your blood pH? I have lots of pH's, depending

on where you look in my body, and you do too.

I sure hope your stomach pH hasn't gone up, or you're just going to disable your

pepsin enzymes. If your blood pH went up, that's only good if it was too low,

and if it did, I assure you it had nothing to do with the acidity or alkalinity

of the water you're drinking.

The acid water is for soaking non-absorbant foods that may have bad

bacteria on them, like chicken from a questionable source. The

alkaline water is the one that's meant to be ingested. Just add the

whey (or in the case of very severe dairy allergy, lemon juice) to

the alkaline water before using it to soak grains.
