Most of the symptoms of gluten intolerance are either auto-immune diseases or vitamin/mineral deficiencies or bacterial overgrowth -- Heidi, First I just want to say again. THIS IS A GREAT LIST!!! Wow that is good to know about the Gluten intolerance. I have gone off grains hoping to help my heartburn. I have always had low iron. Took iron shots as a kid, had a blood transfusion as an adult. Both after surgeries. I take Vitamin K because I read about the signs of a deficiency in it and they were screaming my name. I have a hard time taking calcium it constipates me even when I have the right amount of magnesium with it. I have always felt I was deficient in Vitamin B, but it give me horrible heartburn. Can you suggest a good book on Gluten intolerance? Thanks for the information Sheryl Sheryl Illustrations http://dovedesignsrus.com
Guest guest
Sheryl, Synthetic vitamin B's can be difficult to digest, at least in my experience and others I know.. you might try a food-grown source like the B-complex product from Lifestar, although I'm not sure if that's completely gluten-free, you'd have to check, www.lifestar.com. Gluten can interfere with HCL production in the stomach, which can make meat harder to digest.. I wonder if that's the mechanism, or at least one of them, for gluten-related iron deficiency. I just read the book Dangerous Grains by Braly, M.D. and Ron Hoggan, on Heidi's recommendation, and thought it was excellent. - At 10:49 AM 09/27/2003 -0700, you wrote: >Heidi wrote: > >ESPECIALLY people who are gluten intolerant, who generally have very >impaired absorption and have lack of calcium, B vitamins, K, and iron >deficiency. Guest guest
, Thanks so much for the URL I will check out their products. I bet your right about the synthetic B's. I have trouble with anything processed or synthetic. I will also go on Amazon and check out the book. Thanks again Sheryl <karenr@...> wrote: Sheryl, Synthetic vitamin B's can be difficult to digest, at least in my experience and others I know.. you might try a food-grown source like the B-complex product from Lifestar, although I'm not sure if that's completely gluten-free, you'd have to check, www.lifestar.com. Guest guest
Dear Sheryl, FYI. When I was gluten intolerant and had candida I was able to eat non-gluten grains such as millet and buckwheat, which are not true grains, but more like seeds.
