Jo,

There are a lot of things that can help scars. I'm working on a surgical

scar that's 6 years old already, but you'll probably have more luck

starting sooner than that!

Soaking in a tub with oats can help the itching. I haven't tried it, sounds

messy.

Calendula cream-- very soothing

Echinacea tincture if there's any infection; also turmeric made into a

paste but it'll turn your skin bright yellow.. hey, could be kinda fun :-)

Thiosinaminum-- a homeopathic cream that's specific for scars

Also homeopathic treatment by a professional can help the various effects

of the trauma.

Sounds like yours isn't a deep wound, but with a deep wound, you don't want

it to heal over on top before the tissues underneath have healed, otherwise

you get a perfect environment for infection.

Take care,
