Guest guest
Daphne, I've been travelling with my " refigerator " through security for 2 years now. Here's how I do it: I bought a small collapsible cooler from Walmart that's about 10 " X 10 " . I put a concentrated mixture of raw egg yolks, raw kefir, and berries in a metal canister thermos (to add to my yogurt). Then I add containers of raw yogurt, cheese, sourdough, salad dressing, a jar of kmichi, sprouted almond butter and whatever else sounds good. I put my supplements in my other carry-on. So far no one has EVER ask to see what's in the metal thermos! I looked once as it came through and it looked pretty odd to me. (I also put into my cooler a large plastic throw away cup just in case I have to prove my thermos) If there's no fridge at the hotel I put the cooler in the tub and keep it filled with ice. I bring all kinds of foods and figure whatever radiation it gets can't be worse than how sick I'm going to be eating regular food. Plus it saves time having to search for stuff I can eat. One more thing... I also use a powdered non-soy food supplement like Ultimate Food. I can take this right before heading to a resturant. That way I'm not starving and don't give into the temptations of bread and pasta. I just came back from a 4 day trip and am fine! Evenings we did lots of Japanese so getting raw was easy for me. But mornings were hotel fruit plus my yogurt, sourdough and raw butter. I did use a bit of hotel jam. (At times I've even brought my own raw cream and tea bags for my morning tea). I'm looking for one of those metal prong coffee cup warmers so I can take a second thermos of concentrated broth and really be set. Oh yes ....be sure to take something for the plane ride! I bring a nice snack plus my own carbonated water so I'm not tempted by Coke. (Hey I'm a southern girl from Coke's hometown...it's as hard as giving up fine wine for me!) Hope this gives you some ideas! Lynn > I have 2 airplane trips coming up. Being preg I'm even more > obsessed with nourishment than usual <g>.
