Guest guest
--Hi Mandi, Thank you for responding. My son has been on GF/CF diets for years, since he was 5 and he is 13 now.Last year I started partially leaking his diet,I started giving him goat yogurt, cheese and butter with the support of Houston enzymes.I decided to do that because of my fear of his poor bone development may be related with his restricted diet.I asked this question to Shattock in a meeting,he said; " it may be possible but it is very rare. " 4 years ago,my son had a severe gastrointestional problem in abroad,he had severe vomitting, fever and diarrohea and lost weight.Second year it was the same story ,this time he was hospitalized for a week in London when we came back from our holiday.None of the doctor identified if he had a bacteria ,parasitis...He ofcourse lost weight, his immune system was getting poor, frequently he was getting cold, always shivering.Third year on my holiday ,nothing happened. But Dr H thinks that whatever he had in the past in his system..According to his stool test he had blasto hominis parasitis and he received treatment with paromemycin.I am not sure if he had cleared off this . This year coming back from my holiday he looks OK so far.Since from the first incident in abroad,he lost weight and his growth started to going down.He hardly put anyweight in the last six months and he growths only 2cm in a year! At present he is on the high protein intake and extra Calojen( combination of oils) which were given by Royal Free dietician and he will be reviewed in September. Despite he is well eating and supplements, amino acids..something is wrong,I strongly believe.. His thyroid panel was OK.His metal test results were very rare according to Dr H,he seems he is not having any toxic metals particularly lead and mercury despite DMSA challenge test. I am thinking to put him on the test again with the French lab, once again general blood test and check his thyroid function. It will be good to do Comprenehsinve stool analysis but I am not sure if we can do it. Thank you for your interest.I will let you know if I receive different opinions about the growth issue from other groups. Warmly, all the best nevin
